Question to PE on One Parent Family Tax Credit 26th Oct 2009

Hi
I was wondering if you might be able to help us. My boyfriend has a little 4 year old girl from a previous relationship. He pays maintenance and has access. He receives the one parent tax allowance. We do not live together. My question is, if we are to marry, would he loose the one parent tax allowance as the little girl is not mine and he is still looking after her, she stays over, she has her own room, He buys her clothes, toys etc as when she is dropped off she does not have a bag with clothes for the weekend or toys, that is one of the reasons he gets her everything an pays maintenance. I am sue he has more questions but if you would be able to help with this query first, we would be very grateful. Thank you
